Dual Glide: A Chopper Profile

The Dual Glide custom chopper is based off a Harley-Davidson's frame. See more motorcycle pictures.

The Dual Glide chopper was born when a longtime enthusiast and mechanic for all things Harley-Davidson wanted something new. Drago Slimonia has seen a lot of trends come and go, and he decided to build a machine for himself. Slimonia wanted a chopper that wouldn't look like anyone else's, and he succeeded with the Dual Glide.

Starting with a 1975 Harley-Davidson FXE, Slimonia began to design and assemble this twin-suspension marvel. From the handlebars down, every inch of the Dual Glide's front end has been handbuilt by Drago. The dual hydraulic fork legs are completely functional, and the multiangle bends in the handlebars are just as unusual.

Matching the Dual Glide's forks is a quad shock setup for the rear swingarm, which necessitated a few changes to the otherwise-stock Harley frame. Also altered was the Harley's Shovelhead V-twin, which grew from 74 cubic inches to 101 and gained some hot-rodded parts in the bargain.

With its dual suspension and colorful graphics, Drago's Dual Glide chopper isn't likely to be confused with any other. Which means Drago got exactly what he wanted.

The Dual Glide is a Harley-Davidson-powered chopper built by Drago Slimonia and his H-D Garage. Below are more pictures and details of this powerful 5-speed chopper.

One of the most notable features on the Dual Glide is the unique dual suspension. In front, twin forks run one atop the other; in back, two shocks run parallel on both sides of the bike. Note the stacked rectangular headlights, and the handlebars made from sharply angled hexagonal tubing.
