Harley-Davidson has expanded the Sportster line in recent years to include Custom and Sport models like the 2002 Harley-Davidson XL-883R Sportster. As a result, the company has also expanded its audience.
Harley looked to its racing past to find inspiration for the new XL-883R. Paint and tank decals are fashioned after those of the company's ferocious XR-750 dirt trackers of the Seventies, while the satin-black crinkle finish on motor cases, oil tank, battery cover, speedometer, and headlight "eyebrow" lends a business-like appearance.
And giving the 2002 Harley-Davidson XL-883R Sportster a performance edge is a gracefully curved exhaust system designed to deliver more horsepower without sacrificing style.
