All Pontiacs now rode the same 120-inch-wheelbase chassis. The former top-line Streamliner series moved down to take over for the old Torpedo, while the new Chieftain moved in above it. Both series were offered with the familiar inline flathead engines from earlier years, and there were DeLuxe trim models in each.
