2009 Dodge Avenger Review
The 2009 Dodge Avenger lineup loses its all-wheel-drive model. Otherwise, this midsize sedan is largely unchanged following its introduction for the 2008 model year. Avenger shares its basic design with the Sebring from Dodge's parent company Chrysler. SE, SXT, and sporty R/T trim levels continue for 2009. The AWD R/T has been dropped. SE and SXT come with a 173-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine. A 186-hp 2.7-liter V6 is optional for SXT. R/Ts have a 235-hp 3.5-liter V6. The 2.4 and 2.7 team with a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the 3.5 uses a 6-speed automatic. R/Ts have a sport suspension. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. Optional is Chrysler's new uconnect multimedia suite, which can include a wireless cell phone link, 30-gigabyte hard drive for storing pictures and digital music files, and a navigation system with real-time traffic information. Other options include heated and cooled cupholders, remote engine start, and leather upholstery.
