Accent is being redesigned for 2005 on a new platform to be shared with the Rio at Hyundai-owned Kia. Analysts expect both versions to get a slight size increase and maybe a larger engine with more power. Full details should emerge soon, so keep checking back with us.

Hyundai says it will offer a hybrid-power option on one of its U.S. car lines for 2006. No decision yet on which model will get it, but we'd guess it will be the new Accent or else the redesigned 2006 Elantra.
