1992-2000 Cadillac Eldorado ETC
The 1992-2000 Cadillac Eldorado ETC was ready for the competition, with a new platform shared by Seville and Eldorado in 1992. For a large coupe, handling of the 1992-2000 Cadillac Eldorado ETC was sharp and stable, but not at the expense of the luxury ride. The 200-horsepower ohv V-8 was replaced by the Northstar engine in '93. With dual overhead cams and 295 horsepower, this engine was world class in smoothness and performance.
Crisp lines distinguished the Eldorado from the rounded cars of the nineties -- although the rear roof pillars blocked rear vision. Eldorados were bigger with more back seat room, even though Eldos kept the 108-inch wheelbase of the previous series, while Sevilles got an 111-inch wheelbase.
In 1998 the Seville was redesigned, while the Eldorado carried on with only detail improvements. For 2000, OnStar navigation and roadside assistance was made standard. As the luxury coupe market dwindled in the nineties, Eldorado ETCs became rarer.
