Longtime Packard body builders Derham and Company of Rosemont, Pennsylvania, answered PMCC president James Nance's call for a Formal Sedan by adapting a leather (occasionally canvas) padded top and a smaller rear window to the basic Patrician sedan. The result was the 1951-1954 Packard Patrician Formal Sedan, a very "private" four-door that managed to capture the flavor of the old coach-building days before the war.
