1930-1937 Cadillac Sixteen
The 1930-1937 Cadillac Sixteen was the all-time great among Cadillacs, with a gem of an overhead-valve V-16 engine that produced 165 bhp and 320 lbs/ft torque. Initially available in 33 different models, sub-models, or trim variations, the Cadillac Sixteen returned eight miles per gallon and would do 90 mph.![]() 1930 Cadillac V-16 convertible coupe. The division used its longest wheelbases and most elaborate bodies and accoutrements for the Sixteens, which sold for $4,700 and up -- usually far up. Cadillac described its performance fairly accurately as "a continuous flow ... constantly at full-volume efficiency ... flexible ... instantly responsive."
